The things I do in the name of research for this page I thought the other week as I sat in my car hopelessly lost in the Cotswolds with a girlfriend and my (increasingly impatient) little daughter for company.
We were on our way to check out the farm shop at Daylesford, a shrine to all things organic created by Lady Bamford (of JCB fame) on the family’s Gloucestershire estate and, once you find it, worth the looking for.
Not only is the food incredibly tempting, but it is all displayed so beautifully that you really can’t escape without buying something. Like a basket of fresh fruit and veg. Or some of the different cheeses. Or breads. Or meats…
Sadly, we didn’t have the opportunity to try out the Hay Barn, an eco-spa offering holistic treatments such as Indian head massage, shiatsu and yoga, but we did get to enjoy some of the delights of the café.
And with all the goodies from the shop, we did at least have something to look forward to when we eventually got home.
