One of the great things about having more people in the hush office these days is we can share our favourite books, films, CDs etc. and I have Cat to thank for putting me onto Feist.
And especially onto Let It Die, her first solo album released back in 2004.
It's one of those albums I can't believe I haven't heard (or even heard of) before, especially as musically it is so my go.
Particular favourites are Inside and Out, a beautifully louche version of the Bee Gees' song, Mushaboom and One Evening.
But in the download generation when you can pick and choose which tracks you want to buy, this is an album that you want to listen to in its entirety.
Feist's style is hard to define exactly – especially with a surprisingly punk past (you'd never guess it) – but it's reminiscent of Jewel or Corinne Bailey Rae, with a touch of Cat Power.
The great thing about coming to an artist late is that you have a whole back catalogue to discover and the great news for Feist lovers is that she has just released her follow-up album.
Entitled A Reminder, it's not in my opinion as good as Let It Die, but nevertheless has some great tracks.
